For the same reason you keep posting this question over and over; everyone is repentant once they get caught.
Answer 2 :
It's the government that sends them in not Christians.
Answer 3 :
blah blah blah... well also you know there are these things called laws in the real world and not everyone is christian!
Answer 4 :
if that is all it took there would be no one left in jails I have an idea Try being a law abiding citizen and you wont go to jail
Answer 5 :
Fine. Release them into your custody, then. I'd love to see the link. I wonder if they took immigration into account. I also would love to see statistics on repeat offenders because my closest Friend is a prosecutor and he claims he sees the same people over and over. They always get released because of cost, and they tend to commit worse offenses. The NY State Prison System is an enormous, corrupt system. Were you aware that a prisoner can have a sex change (on your dime) when incarcerated? I suppose that's more important than a starving kid in the ghetto.
Answer 6 :
They can repent all they want, I still expect them to serve every second of their punishment. How else will they learn their lesson?
Answer 7 :
just release them?! because there are moral rules of conduct in this society otherwise everyone would run wild like the wild wild west and not be punished for killing, stealing, raping, etc. when a child does something wrong we put them in time out and they get punished so that they know when they do wrong there will be consequences. everything we do has consequences, whether inflicted by the law or just plain karma. this is hard for me to say, because i have a brother in prison and i wish he would be released, however when it comes to murderers, crooks and such i think they need to be punished for what they have done to someone else. also..i am not christian just believe in right and wrong.
Answer 8 :
Because nobody would be dumb enough to put the criminal justice system into the hands of people who think like that.
Answer 9 :
Imprisonment is found throughout Scripture. As a young man, Joseph was thrown into prison in Egypt (Gen. 39:20). Samson, after having his eyes put out, was put to work in a grinding mill prison house of the Philistines (Jdg. 16:21). Jeremiah spent many of his days in the “court of the prison” (Jer. 32:2). Also, throughout the New Testament, men such as Paul, James, John the Baptist and Peter, among others, were imprisoned. This shows that variations of imprisonment have been used for thousands of years. However, prisons are not God’s way of dealing with crime. The above examples were all from nations not led by God! When Israel was led out of Egypt, God gave the nation a civil code of laws that would cause the Gentiles to view Israel as a “great nation” that was both “wise and understanding” (Deut. 4:6). However, in this code God included no provision for prisons. Instead, there were swift and sure punishments for each broken law. In contrast to America’s current prison system, a broken law generally resulted in a predetermined punishment—with no gray areas. Once a man was sentenced, the punishment was swiftly and publicly carried out—often with citizens helping to execute sentences. This system of corporal and capital punishment was used so that other citizens would “hear and fear” (Deut. 13:11; 17:13; 19:20), realizing the consequences of breaking the law. The closest thing to a prison were wards, where criminals awaited sentencing, followed by their quick and sure punishment (Lev. 24:12; Num. 15:34). On top of this, penalties fit the crime. In the 21st century, what and how long a sentence should be are usually left to a judge to decide. For the same offense, one man will receive years in prison, while another only a handful of months—or even none at all! Physical punishment under Israel’s civil laws was made to fit the crime, not the criminal. Some crimes meant flogging or a mandatory death sentence. Others incurred less severe punishments. For example, if a man were caught stealing he was ordered to pay back twice the stolen amount (Exo. 22:4-9). By consistently and publicly punishing criminals, the ancient Israelites knew what consequences would result if they broke these laws. In doing so, crime was thwarted. If this were to be enacted today, it would still work. However, this system would be derided as archaic and outdated (just as similar punishments were from Colonial America). While modern prisons are plagued with mounting problems, God’s Way involves swift sentencing, with swift punishment. It may seem that what is outlined in the Bible is “too simple” and critics could decry that it could never fit every case. However, applying God’s Law would work to effectively reduce crime—if a nation diligently applied it. United States prisons cannot produce real rehabilitation or change in inmates. Modern systems are not based upon God’s Law, rather the ideas of men! Because of this, prisons cannot get to the core problem of crime—human nature! So...do you think mans way of dealing with criminals is easier than God's way?!

Answer 1 :
Do you really expect anyone to read all of that?
Answer 2 :
Because being repentant doesn't mean you don't deserve to finish your punishment. ANd if you were truly repentant, you'd understand why.
Answer 3 :
wizjp is exactly right..you don't have to read anything but your question to answer it perfectly..we can't just release because a criminal is genuinely repentant.
Answer 4 :
it also says to obey the law of the land. and really, you want seperation of church and state and to release them just because they say they are repentant would be wrong. they must be accountable and follow the law.
Answer 5 :
I am sorry, but you are misreading the Scripture. This passage is about how individuals are to treat other individuals, not how society organizes itself and upholds its laws. While we should forgive people of their crimes, they must also suffer the consequences of their actions. That is why Romans 13 talks about government exercising authority. I understand your point in reference to non violent offenders and partly agree. Our legal system should be much more focused on restitution and punishment made more proportional to the impact on society. For example, if a con man steals $1 million, he should have to pay up $1.2 million to his victims. Confinement for non violent offenses should be limited and those offenders kept away from violent offenders. That is why non violent offenders (for the most part) go to minimum security prisons and work farms while the violent animals get locked up with others of their kind in maximum security. As an aside, with reference to your comment on religion and the First Amendment, all recognized religions (including Hindu temples and Wiccan covens) do get 501c3 exemptions as well as exemptions from property taxes and tax breaks for clergy. Also, with respect to California's Prop 8, it cannot be overturned on the basis of the state constitution because it was an amendment to the constitution. There are procedural reasons unrelated to the subject matter that are the focus of current legal action.

What do 23 year old men want for their birthday's from their girlfriends

What do 23 year old men want for their birthday's from their girlfriends?
We've been together for 11 months. He wants an xbox but I'm in college and can't afford one. He's always has gotten what he wanted from his parents so I feel as though I'll disappoint him. He loves the Lakers and the Yankees, he loves crime books and tv shows. He's a sensitive guy. He's originally from Texas but moved to Minnesota to go to drug rehab. I have some romantic ideas planned I just need a gift for him. ALL SUGGESTIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED. Now I know I could get him sport tickets, concert etc... but nothing he likes is in Minnesota nor will be in Minnesota.

What to do when your husbands family treats myself and my family as if we are embarrassing white trash

What to do when your husbands family treats myself and my family as if we are embarrassing white trash?
I have recently moved to Texas with my husband and our 3 year old daughter. We have been here for 2 long years now and it just keeps getting worse! I left all my friends and family back in TN so my husband could have his father that he never knew in his life as well as our daughters life. Honestly trying to make a better life for us. When my husband actually found his father we flew to TX for a week to meet the family and it was great. My father in law offered my husband a great job with his company if we would move here. So that we did 4 months later. These people think their money makes them God in control of everyones life. His step monster(mom) pretty much on a daily basis lets us know that we are not equal to the rest of the family. They pamper my husbands siblings (rich brats to be more percise) and call us when they need a hole in the wall in the wall repaired one of them has caused. The step monster and drug addicited sister are constantly causing choas for me. I have lost a total of 50 lbs in 2 years and can't afford to lose any more. The sister has really caused so many problems. I then try to repair the damage they have caused for my husbands sake only to be slapped in the face again. I am at the point that I am thinking of leaving my husband and taking my daughter back home to TN. I love my husband with all my heart but this is a living nightmare. He will not stand up for me or hisself when it comes to these people and I just can not take much more of it. They are all alochloics or drug addicted idiots, including the dad and step monster. They go as far as making fun of me because I will not have a drink with them. The children they have together literally grew up sleeping on pool tables in smoke filled bars. They have put one of their children in rehab several times from the time she was 13 till now and she is almost 20. Only to get her out and have a big lets all get drunk till we pass out party. They have their "connections" that allow them to live this way. PLease help me what in the world do I do about this?

Answer 1 :
haven't packed your bags yet?
Answer 2 :
this is why it is so very important to closely get to know someone's family before marrying them. if you can't get along with your potential in-laws, it is a huge red flag in any relationship. after all, these are the people that you will have to see every holiday and family event. they don't sound very stable. however, you on the other hand sound very judgemental and you should think about that. your husband should stand up for him, but realize that he is in a very tough spot...choosing between your family and your wife isn't where any guy wants to be. he should have put a little more thought into the whole deal before going out there, but that is water under the bridge. you all have to find some way to make this work though.
Answer 3 :
It sounds like they're the WHITE TRASH, but can't see that through their drunken episodes.Talk with your husband about what they say to you,& what this environment will teach your child. If he won't step in & support you emotionally, & won't move, then you can tell him that your planning to move back home, where folks are sober & reasonable.Don't feel wrong or guilty, since you have tried to make this work, with no help or encouragement by his shabby thinking folks.BOL to you
Answer 4 :
I would explain to my husband that I simply could not live around these people any longer, and that you all need to move. If he is unwilling to do so, then you need to tell him 2 of you are absolutely moving, and he can decide on whether he will make the number 3 by including himself. He can still have a relationship with these people if he wishes, but he can do that from afar.
Answer 5 :
get out while you can
Answer 6 :
can you please answer my question I asked please
