Can somebody explain why Mexico would even have drug rehab centers since Mexico says its only a US problem

Can somebody explain why Mexico would even have drug rehab centers since Mexico says its only a US problem?
Even for regular families with addicts, drug centers can be ugly places. Parents commit unruly adolescents or even their adult children against their will for months at a time. Beatings are often part of therapy, hygiene can be poor and lax enforcement of regulations prevails. No one knows how many drug rehabilitation clinics and treatment centers there are. The Mexican government is expanding a series of Nueva Vida rehab centers for teenagers, erected since 2007 with $205 million confiscated from a Shanghai -born drug trafficker. However, it largely leaves the work of treating hardened addicts to nonprofit associations, some run by former addicts with little training. Many treatment centers are semi-clandestine, hidden behind walls with no signs. A significant number of centers never register with the government. The former addicts who run them ask few questions of those who arrive for treatment, seeking nominal payment from family members. Demand is high due to soaring drug use. A U.N. report last year estimated that 1.7 million Mexicans use cocaine, consuming 27.6 tons a year, nearly double the amount in 2002. Mexicans consume 3.9 tons of heroin a year, it added. Some 3 million Mexicans smoke marijuana, also a significant rise from earlier in the decade. Officials put the number of drug addicts in the nation at 428,000. President Felipe Calderon said drug cartels focused on Mexico as a market after per capita income tripled since 1993 to more than $10,000 last year nationwide and as much as $18,000 in Monterrey , a prosperous industrial hub near the border with Texas . "This new purchasing power in the society has made the criminals modify their plans, turning from low-profile exporters to the United States to distributing and placing drugs in the big and small cities of this country," Calderon said in a speech June 26 . Zamudio estimated that more than half of those in drug treatment centers are there against their will, sent by family members with the help of police. At most centers, hardened addicts are made to go cold turkey. "There are multiple accounts of abuses occurring in drug abuse treatment centers, suggesting an urgent need for more regulation by the government and a more rigorous certification for the centers that operate. Using fear and the threat of physical abuse is no way to treat an addiction," said Maureen Meyer , associate for Mexico and Central America at the Washington Office on Latin America , a human rights advocacy group. http://news.yahoo.com/s/mcclatchy/3574384 Why w Mexico has human rights abuse can this be the same Mexico suing AZ over human rights abuse ?

Racist la raza nazi KKKlan with a Tan MESSYcans LIE. That's why.
Answer 2 :
The Mexican govt. never tells the truth.
Answer 3 :
No where does it say "Mexico says its only a US problem". Question resolved. Are you reading this article? It does not say anything about Mexico violating human rights or that drugs are a US problem. It says that Mexico is finding drugs spreading not into the US but within their own Country. There is abuse in nursing homes and treatment centers every where. People need to read! The article does not support the 2 questions.

Will activists blame Americans for this and why is there drug rehab in MEXICO activists said MEXICANS did not?
Will activists blame Americans for this and why is there drug rehab in MEXICO activists said MEXICANS did not ever use drugs and this is why the drugs come here ?CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico รข€” At least 30 gunmen burst into a drug rehabilitation center in a Mexican border state capital and opened fire, killing 19 men and wounding several others, police said. The killings happened late Thursday at the Faith and Life center in Chihuahua city, about 210 miles (350 kilometers) south of Ciudad Juarez and the border with El Paso, Texas, said state police spokesman Fidel Banuelos. They came a day after unidentified assailants killed one man and wounded another at a rehab center in Ciudad Juarez. The men at the Faith and Life center were roused out of bed shortly before 11 p.m. and placed face-down along a hallway, the center's director, Cristian Rey Ramirez, told The Associated Press. Ramirez was alerted to the attack by the center's pastor by telephone. "He tells me, 'You know what, come here because they just killed everyone,'" Rey said. "There was no warning." The attackers left messages accusing the victims of being criminals, Banuelos said. Four other people were hospitalized but their conditions were not immediately known. The victims ranged in age from 30 to 40, and included a blind man, said the Rev. Rene Castillo, a minister who gives weekly sermons at the center. "Everyone is so scared now," he said, adding that violence is "all everyone talks about, especially with all the threats that have been made." President Felipe Calderon, whose war on drugs has claimed nearly 23,000 lives since he took office in late 2006, issued a statement Friday condemning the shootings. "They are outrageous acts that reinforce the conviction of the need to fight criminal groups who carry out such barbaric acts with full legal force," he said. Police have said that two of Mexico's six major drug cartels are exploiting rehab centers to recruit hit men and drug smugglers, often threatening to kill those who don't cooperate. Others are killed for failing to pay for drugs or betraying a dealer. More than 60 people have died in mass shootings at rehab clinics in a little less than two years. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/top/all/7048055.html I am shocked that they didn't blame this on our Border Agents

Answer 1 :
WTF is the question?
Answer 2 :
funny, alias king thinks him and his alias are not an activist for illegal criminals. lmfao. We know they try to cover up all crimes done by illegals. They don't care how many Americans are killed or hurt by these people. Only concern is with the illegal and getting amnesty as you see a good point here. Makes you wonder if this illegal uses this many alias in real life.
Answer 3 :
Whats the question???? This wouldnt of happened if american junkies didnt supply cartels with the money.
Answer 4 :
Produce the drug Mexicans, Americans use the drug ... Ultimately if there is no production use, the question remains in the air is because Americans consume so much drug?

I wish to find drug rehabs in Navasota, Texas. How?
I want to do this for a friend of mine who has just recently admitted to herself that she has a problem with her drug intake. I would like to help her even if only by finding a drug rehab for her so that she can get herself treated for her addiction.

You can find drug rehabs by checking out the links below. Looking through the local yellow pages will surely yield results too. You can help her in other ways as well. Just keep on being there for her. Show her your support and continue on encouraging her. That will help her get through the whole ordeal of getting herself treated in a rehab.
