Rehab for drug addicts

Rehab for drug addicts?
My brother needs help, I don't have the money to send him somewhere, he needs an actual place that deals with drugs, not just a talk group. Is there such thing as a free place to go or somewhere that has grants or some kind of financing that I can apply for? He lives in Kansas, I live in Texas. He needs help I want to help him. I don't want to lose my brother.

A lot of rehabs and recovery homes you need money for but there are some free ones. At least here in Sacramento, CA where I am located. I would call around and see. You don't say what drugs he is on but if he has now reached rock bottom with his addiction and genuinely wants help, you and he will need to be focussed on this. He will need to move away if possible from the area he gets the drugs so he is away from temptation. If you go to Narconon Arrowhead on the web they will probably give you the information you need. To come off drugs is not easy and to start the process you will need to get to the reason he started on them in the first place which can be very emotional - understand the cause and you may be able to find the cure. Get support for yourself too because it can be a hard and lonely road being a carer. Be prepared for lies, tears, broken promises, arguments,(from him) and for yourself feeling helpless, angry, scared and alone. I hope you get the help you need and I wish you well. I don't know what services are available for you in America but in England we have organisations that can be accessed in most towns and these are free for those who are referred by their doctor. Do you not have any walk in centres. Sorry this is so long but my thoughts are with you.

who is the best defense attorney in tarrant county texas, as far as acquiring dismissals ?
i was arrested by arlington,tx. police. about 15 months ago, after i agreed to a search of my vehicle, not knowing that some friends of my then girlfriend, that i reluctantly let use my truck to move some furniture, left a meth. pipe and a little baggie of meth. at the back of my console, approx. 1 month before the arrest. i have a degree in criminal justice and don't do drugs now, nor have i ever. about 2 months after that, i was searched again by a different p.d. and another baggie and pipe were found in approx. the same location, at the back of my console. undoubtedly, the arlington officer had overlooked these items and i hardly ever open the console, and i certainly didn't know they were there. i was arrested again. my lawyer sounded very hopeful of getting them all dismissed at first, but now he's trying to get me to cop out to either probation or a lengthy drug rehab. program that i don't need, and it is very expensive.

That's a huge fish story.....true or not. My first question comes from the first arrest as why you didn't go down to the local police station and have your vehicle checked by a drug dog to avoid the second incident. I then wonder why, after the first arrest, you didn't head to your local doctor and get a blood test proving you were not using. This doesn't appear to have been done for the second arrest either. So, what you are left with is a mountain of evidence against you. Considering these are both felonies, any deferment, agreement, plea deal you make will instantly make you a convicted felon, a label that lasts a lifetime. Tread carefully grasshopper, you are in very dangerous waters.

Where is there an excellent rehab for a 24 yr old male heroin addict ?
A friend that i know has gone to rehab but it's a stupid system . They kick you out if you do something against the regulations ex. like get drugs in the building hidden in the food . They allow visitors to take them food . They are allowed to leave the building if they want to leave . He needs one that can help him out with money to afford a good rehab in Texas that will help him.

your friend is fortunate to have such an easy rehab....the ones i've been to and heard of are alot harder.... call one of the local hospitals... they may know of better rehabs...if not them, maybe a clergy...

In Texas, at what point during a pregnancy does the doctor perform the mandatory drug test?
I quit smoking weed when I found out I was pregnant, but I know drug tests are mandatory here and a failure is required to be reported to CPS, who show up at the hospital when the baby is born and revoke custody pending 3 months rehab. I haven't touched weed since the day I found out, but my doctor takes a urine sample every time, and I'm worried about the first and possibly second visits to him where I submitted urine. I think they do the drug test later in the pregnancy and the last tests were just UA's but I would like to be sure.

I am not sure how Texas works...never heard of it and lived in Texas myself. In all honesty you should never be consuming drugs whether you are pregnant or not.

more then likely the whole pregnancy!!! And as long as when you do it you are clean and you really are staying clean you should be fine but F.Y.I it stays in the inbebotic fluid so when the baby is born it will test positive. They can also by when they test how long it has been So make sure to stay clean maybe even better is confess to your doc now do rehab so that by the time the baby is born all will be OK for sure!!! But that is just my advise and opinion!!!

I am not from Texas but when i first got pregnant they tested me the first or second visit but I had to get consent from me by signing a paper asking permission to test for many different drugs listed on the paper. Our state is the same is yours if you fail the test CPS would be involved. I am sure if you failed the test they would have contacted you about the test and informed you you failed. They take your urine every visit testing your protein and sugar. GL to ya and Congratz on the baby!!

I live in North Carolina, and don't know the Texas laws, but as a mother;I would suggest being upfront with your doctor from the beginning. Just tell him/her that you were smoking weed and that you stopped soon as you found out you were pregnant. A little honesty goes a long ways! If I am not mistaken, they can test you and seems like there is a way for them to tell when the last time you were smoking weed or had taken any other drug. They will probably ask you at first ( I think this is done to see if you are going to be upfront and honest with them at first) But they will administer the test, and hopefully by you being upfront, they will not call cps, but rather choose to give random drug test thorugh your pregancy. If you mange to stay clean, good for you, and that may mean that cps will never be called. It all depends on the doctor. Good luck!

why do you want to harm the baby? you shouldnt do anything that could be harmful. it is very hard to have a healthy baby w/o taking any risks. think of someone else for once, not yourself. are you gonna get loaded after the bay is born & not be able to take care of it? cps will still come & take the baby at any time. grow up

As far as I've known, UA's are taken randomly by CPS. Drugs and alcohol should not be consumed while you are pregnant. Take consideration, not only for your child, but for yourself as well.
