can someone over 18 (under 21) be forced into rehab

can someone over 18 (under 21) be forced into rehab?
i have a family friend that has been in and out of rehab for cocaine and heroin and is now over 18... is there any way to get court ordered rehab for this person(texas)? she recently got a dui and is under 21. i know texas has a zero tolerance for that. will she be put on probation? or will the just take her license from her? i know for a fact that she would fail a drug test if she was put on probation. what can her family do... they tried once to put her in rehab after turning 18 but she checked out right way. thanks in advance for any help you can lend.

Yes by the court
Answer 2 :
Unless she breaks the law and, as part of her probation or sentence is court ordered to enter rehab, she is free to do as she chooses. She will eventually end up in that situation. For heroin? Very few people get off of that. There's no lifelong addiction - they just end up overdosing at some point after going in and out of rehab a zillion times. She has to get help for her emotional and mental health problems first (depression and self-esteem) then enter a detox program. If she's afraid of withdrawl, get her the psychological help now with no judgments and help her find a rapid detox program. The addict is asleep and under watch during withdrawl. It's quick and easy but if she hasn't received the psychological help then it will be pointless. Please remind her and offer to go with her to a Narcotics Anonymous meeting. They are all over the world with daily meetings and it's possible to go several times a day if she needs to. They ask only that when an addict is there that they want to change. So if you have to haul her there and she's high, that's generally still acceptable as long as she doesn't promote or encourage use while there. Someone should go with her for awhile especially if she smokes. Court appointed attendees often use smoke breaks to buy, sell, and use. Then they turn in their sheet that says they went to the meeting when in actuality they stayed outside and smoked cigarettes the entire time. :/
Answer 3 :
For legal situations, this is possible. You should contact your local authority's office especially since it involves a dui charge. The most effective way is to stage an intervention and try to get her into an appropriate drug rehabilitation facility. Addiction can be a treacherous thing and I wish the best for you and your family.
